Care begins with listening

We believe exceptional care begins with listening. From your first visit forward, our goal is to make your care feel clear, coordinated and personal. We take time to understand what matters to you, explain your options in plain language and help you make informed decisions about your health.

Medical background

A career shaped by medicine, leadership and service

Dr. Kreegel’s professional background spans more than four decades and includes emergency medicine, medical education, clinical leadership, aviation medicine and community service. Today, as Medical Director of ABMED Physicians Group, he brings that breadth of experience to thoughtful, relationship-centered adult primary care in Cape Coral.

Dr. Kreegel earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1982 and later earned an M.B.A. from IMPAC University. He completed his internship at the University of Tennessee Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Clinical & Academic Leadership

His career includes work as an emergency department physician, service as an associate professor at the University of South Florida in 1990, and the founding of American-Medic, a multidisciplinary clinic that brought together medical specialists and diagnostic services.

Additional Professional Roles

Dr. Kreegel has served as physician for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and as an FAA-designated Senior Aviation Medical Examiner conducting pilot medical examinations.

His community service has included medical mission trips to Ecuador, Peru and Nicaragua, as well as medical assistance for migrant workers in Charlotte and DeSoto counties through the Care-a-Van program.

Professional roles listed here are part of Dr. Kreegel’s broader background and do not indicate that every service is available through ABMED’s Cape Coral office.
